TPS25942A - About calculation formula of R(IMONmax)

RIMON should be calculated based on equation (6). Calculated RIMON should be lower than R(IMONMAX) equation (5).

1.6 is tolerance factor added for calculating R(IMONMAX).

Our customer calculate "R(IMON)" and they would like to set "V(IMONmax)=3.0V.

Then, Which is correct (5) and (13)?

(5): R(IMON)=(4.0-2.2)/(10*52*10^-6)≒3.46kohm

(13): R(IMON)=3/(10*52*10^-6)≒5.77kohm

 

[Conditions]

-Vin=4.0V to 8.4V

-Iout=10A(max) (parallel operation)

-VIMONmax = 3.0V

- They don’t measure "I(FASTRIP)" (Remove 1.6).

Hi Kanemaru-san,

At 4V supply voltage, VIMON voltage is limited to (4-2.2) = 1.8V. RIMON resistor should be selected according to the equation (5).

What is the configuration used? Individual IMON for each channel or combined IMON?

Thank you for the information.

They use the dual phase of TPS25942A.

And, they would like to use “combined IMON”.

So, they would like to measure the total output current (From 0A to around 10A).
