BQ24725A Iout Gain

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24725A

Hi Team –

Posting this on customer’s behalf.

Currently using BQ24725A on a project.

The device seems to be working ok, but the output voltage on the Iout pin, is 40x the input voltage… the datasheet shows that this should be 20x.

The measurements are all follows:

Pins 1 & 2 = 11.3 mV across 10 mohms = 1.13 A

Pins 12 & 13 = 12.2 mV across 10 mohms = 1.22 A

Voltage at pin 7 = 0.430V

The input voltage is 15V and the battery voltage is 10.4V, so the currents seem reasonable considering the fact the some of the current is powering the rest of the system.

Pin 7 is close to 40X the voltage across pins 1 & 2, which is the default setting.  11.3 mV X 40 = 0.452V.

Can you please provide some insight on this behavior?

Thank you.

  • Iout pin output is related to several register bits. It could have 40x voltage across pin 1 and 2. For example:
