TPS62130: 2 inductor at the output of TPS62130

Such a second-order filter can cause instability. Why do you use it?

As well, the TPS62085 or TPS62097 are much better devices for a 5V input.

Hi Chris,

We are using TPS54526PWP to generate 1V and 3.3V but we are using TPS62130 to generate 2.5V .

Do you suggest us to use TPS62130 for 2.5V generation or shell i use TPS54526PWP in place of TPS62130, which one is better? I am asking this because i found many negative feedback on TPS62130 in this forum.

There are many possible choices for 5 or 12 V input and 2.5 V output. What are your primary concerns?

Actually Cading of this design is going on , already 50% completed. We are already using TPS54526PWP also cading of TPS62130 completed partially, So if required i can reuse the footprint also placement of TPS54526PWP but using other ICs will lead extra effort and time for cading!

If you are suggesting us to use TPS62130 then i will share you the placement detail , if not i will change the part.

I was not suggesting anything particular at this point. I was only pointing out that there are many possible device options depending on the features that you require. I do not support either TPS54526 or TPS62130 directly, although I am quite familiar with TPS54526.

Is there any problem with TPS54526 for generating lower voltage from 5V.

But i am finding many -ve feedback on   TPS62130 part, even below discussion given -ve feedback on this part.

I do not know of any specific reliability issues for TPS54526. The only limitation for lower input voltages is the minimum off time constraint. It limits max duty cycle to around 79-80 %. For 5 V to 2.5 V, duty cycle is 50 % so no issue there.

I think the cause of the failures in the other thread was fairly clear: the D/S requirements for the input cap were not followed. With whatever device you choose, you need to read the D/S and follow its guidance on component selection, layout, etc.

The TPS54526 is much bigger than TPS62130. What exactly do you need in your application?
