BQ34Z100: Discharge at -20°C

Part Number: BQ34Z100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCRB

charlie dsg 225w dsgminus20C.xlsxcharlie dsg 225w 20c.xlsxHi ,

We have a requirement to discharge our Lion battery at -20°C. See attached.

The DSG data at 20°C is perfect but starting DSG with the battery at -20°C gives unusable performance from the fuel gauge.

Any suggestions to solve the issue please?

Many thanks

Martin

  • Martin,
Have you run the GPCRB tool for the device to optimize the Rb table for low temperature operation? Most of the ChemID's are performed with a 0 degC minimum temperature, so an Rb tweak is required to improve performance as lower temperatures. You can search GPCRB on the TI website to find the tool and input requirements.
