TPS53819A: May TPS53819 having design tool ?

Part Number: TPS53819A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS53819

Hi Sir

1.May we know if TPS53819 having design tool ?

2. For datasheet Equation 20, the calculate Vout is complex, but i find the EVB/reference design Vot calculate way is Vfb(0.6V) *(1+RfbH/RfbL). May i can use this Vfb(0.6V) *(1+RfbH/RfbL) to find out RfbH and RfbL value?

3. Is Rfb H mus be between "10K~20K". is any impact if out of this range?

4. I see the TPS53819 is use register to change frequency, if yes, then how to choice inductor?

5. May i double check if we can set up reg to change Vout voltage?(is use Table 12?)

6.Is Rtrip resistor is use to set up over current point? but i calculate value is different equaction 21? may i something wrong ?tps53819.xlsx

  • Bogey,

    1. I have an efficiency calculator design tool. Not sure what aspect of tool you are looking for.

2, Yes you can use the evm formula from design guide

3.It is best to follow datasheet recommendation. What value were you trying to change to.

4.Yes via registers. Default is 425khz. For inductor selection please follow normal guidelines keeping ripple current ration between 0.3 and 0.5.  delta IL/Iout = ripple current ratio

5.Yes you can use this for changing output voltage

    6. Ok let me check your file. will get back

    Regards,

    Mathew

  • I also calculate same value as you. I need to order the evm to check on bench.

    Regards,
    Mathew
  • Regarding Rtrip: Please refer to block diagram on the datasheet on page 16.
(Rtrip*10uA)/8 sets the OCP trip point. (39.2k*10uA)/8=49mV
If you are using 2mohms fet the OCP trip point is 25A.
The output load current at which it trips would the OCP trip point - (delta IL/2).
We will modify the datasheet to make it easier to understand.
    Regards,
    Mathew
  • Hi Mathew
So May we check if we have excel file design tool for easy to inductor/ RfbH/RfbL so on...
