TPS51206: Support for Micron DDR3L, LPDDR3

Part Number: TPS51206

See the attached word document. Micron DDR3L specifies a reference voltage within 1% of VDDQ (i.e., 0.49 to 0.51 X VDDQ) while the TPS51206 data sheet appears to be 0.4875 to 0.5125 X VDDQ at 1.35V operation. Does this mean we do not meet their DDR3L spec? If so, do we have a device that does (we are powering 3 DDR3 memory chips.) Am I missing or misinterpreting something?

TPS51206 vs Micron DDR3L Specs.docx

  • Hi Kurt,

The 0.4875 to 0.5125 X VDDQ spec is with +/-10mA load on VTTREF.
The typical VTTREF current each DDR is only 1-2uA.
With +/-100uA load, the test data shows the tolerance is within +/-1% with margin.
So TPS51206 can be used for DDR3L.

    Thanks
    Qian
