Hello,
I have someting about TPS40428 PMBUS factory default setting, can you help me about this?
Below is my design specification:
1>Vin:12V; 2>Vout: 0.85V; 3>Iout: 45A
I choose a single TPS40428 and 2-phase output for this application.
Does this application can power on normally with TPS40428 PMBUS factory default setting? Do we need to modify any parameters for this design?
Hi,
Vout can be set with resistor divider in feedback path, 2-ph should be able to support 45A with no problem. So this application should be able to power up with PMBus factory default setting.
Regards,
Weidong
Hi Weidong,
Thanks for your information.
The design should be OK, what I concerned is the default PMBUS factory setting for the 2-phase application.
In TPS40428 datasheet page 63, E6h register is default setting to 0000h. And the last two bites are used for phase setting.
But my design is 2-phase application, so the E6h register should be changed to 0001h, right? What will happen if use the default setting?
Could you help check if any other default register setting need to change for this 2-phase application?
Thanks.
Got it, the default PMBUS factory setting should be OK for the one single output 2-phase application.
Thanks a lot for your help.
