hi Everybody,
i am thinking on a battery management system containing a commercial laptop battery, a BQ24745, and an MCU:
is it possible talking between laptop battery and MCU?
regards, Rasool
thank you,
i want to use BQ24745 in my system.
my question: can a MCU communicate to a commercial laptop battery?
thank you Wang,
i examined a laptop battery.
i connected the "system present" pin to ground. so the power appeared across the + and - terminals.
but the clock and data pins does not have any signal.
probably i must to prepare clock to the battery.
may i think true?
i had connected the probe to the battery while the battery was disconnected form the laptop.
i don't have EV Series equipment.
i have 2 basic questions about smbus ( i2c ) network:
1) does a laptop clock while it is powered from adapter and its battery disconnected? ( or in an i2c network a master must to be connected to a slave then clock is generated. )
2 ) a master is necessary for a smbus ( i2c ) network or a host+slave is sufficient?
best regards, Rasool
Please buy a bq24745EVM&EV2400 and follow the instruction to power up the board. And then, you can measure the clock.
