TPS62175: Radiated electromagnetic disturbance as per standard EN55015

Part Number: TPS62175

Hi,

Good morning!!

We are currently using TPS62175 switcher for converting 24V DC to 5V supply for our design we are facing Emission issue at 614KHZ in Radiated electromagnetic disturbance 44dBuV in Y and Z axis as per EN55015, I have attached the test graph for your reference along with schematic and PCB layout, please let me know the counter measure to resolve the problem.  Please let me know any other details required from our end.

  • I am not familiar with the EN55015 standard, but I think you are measuring conducted emissions on the supply using any kind of LISN, so I assume the noise is measured on a supply cable.
What you see in your measurements may be the switching frequency. You can doublecheck that by measuring the waveform at pin 10 (SW) of the IC with an oscilloscope.
In this case increasing the capacitance of C4 should have a significant effect.
If this does not work, please provide more information about your design, e.g. the output current of the converter in your application. More details about the measurement setup would be helpful as well. In the layout you posted I did not find the filter components you show in the schematic. I also did not find an explanation for the split in the GND plane under the DCDC converter.
