LM5030: About using LM5030

Part Number: LM5030

Hello Expert,

At my customer, LM5030 is being considered.
The application is the power supply of the ultrasonic sensor.

Customers are creating circuits based on the design of the TI design,
Can the LM 5030 be used without combining two TI designs?

Please give me advice.

  • Hello Fukazawa,

Can you please share their design spec.

    Regards,

  • Dear Sonal-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
    The design details are undecided.

The customer wants a document which is a reference for the design.
It also says that they want to avoid the use of large capacitors as described in the TI design.

I am sorry that there is little information.
Is it possible to advise in this situation?

    Best, Regars.

  • Hello Fukazawa,

With this limited information, I would suggest TIDA - 01352 is a good choice of a power supply with scalable output and high efficiency with LM5030 integrated.

Section 2.3.2 talks in great lengths about designing the push-pull power supply with LM5030, this will be a great start once you have the specifications figured out.

For the output capacitor: You will need a minimum of 40uF/300V however, the EVM uses a 100uF for better loop stability.

Attached is a User guide for TIDA - 01352, hopefully, this will be of some assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    Sonal
