BQ78350: BQ78350 EDV0,1,2 updated inquiry

Part Number: BQ78350

Hello team,

I am sending email to inquiry about bq78350’s CEDV update

My customer used default GG file and only changed EDV voltage like attached PPT file

However, when customer test charge/discharge, RSOC is updated with original EDV2 voltage(3501mV) not on new EDV2 voltage(3250mV)

Please refer to attached PPT file and log excel file

Could you let me know how customer could update the EDV voltage from default gg file?

And what was problem with customer’s setting?

And could you let me know below 4-setting’s difference?

Looks #1,#2 and #4 is same, since it does not EDV from initial setting

  1. Fixed_EDV0 1           EDV_CMP  1
  2. Fixed_EDV0 1            EDV_CMP  0
  3. Fixed_EDV0 0           EDV_CMP   1
  4. Fixed_EDV0 0           EDV_CMP  0

Thank you

I am attaching gg log file and other related material

Thank you

  • Hi Hayden,

There are 3 issues here. First you have not done the CEDV characterization which means that the algorithm has no basis for tracking capacity except design cap on the settings. Second, you have EDV_CMP mode. What this means is that it will not use fixed EDV. Secondly if it were using fixed EDV, it would only hold capacity for EDV hold time and that is 1s. If you want to use fixed EDV disable EDV_CMP mode in settings and then reset and start the cycle.
