BQ25895: PMID current with battery connected

Part Number: BQ25895

Hi

I have used the bq25895 in my design and I can only get 1.5A on the PMID pin with my battery connected, why is this? I added the VSKY20301608-G4-08 diode its a 2A  rated, why cant even get 2.1A? But when I connect a supply to VBUS I get 3A+ on PMID. So I connected my power supply on the BAT connections and I still cannot get more than 1.5A!

  • Simbarashe,
I think you are talking about the OTG boost from the battery. How much is the voltage of VBAT and PMID when the PMID has 1.5A output current? Do you use 2.2uH inductor? Is the OTG boost operated at 500KHz?
    Regards,
    Eric
  • Hi Eric,

Thanks for responding. VBAT is still 4.13V but the OTG boost voltage goes down to 4.7V, no load voltage is 5.18V though.

    Yes I use a 2.2uH inductor.

I am also failing to get an ACK from the IC. I have 10K resistors on both lines,

    NACK
