LMG5200: spike output SW

Part Number: LMG5200

Hi

i am working on lmg5200 bldc application note but i should introduce the dead time between  inputs HI and LI

the frequency of my PWM is 20Khz  please what is the minimum dead time that i should apply to my inputs in order to avoid to have HI=LI=1

Vin = 24vdc,

Best regards

  • Hello Sidhoum,

    Thanks for asking. For the setting on dead time, there are two different ones. One dead time is soft-switched, which is based on  your load current and the resonance between your Coss and inductor current. For this dead time, you have to calculate your dv/dt during commutation, and then take the propagation delay mismatch into consideration. For the hard-switched dead time, please look into our datasheet for the propagation delay mismatch. For LMG5200 it is max. 8ns. In this case, I would say if you have some more margin, such as dead time of 10ns, you should be safe.

    Thanks and regards,

    Lixing
