EV2400: The EV2400 not identified

Part Number: EV2400
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO,

My problem is related to using EV2400 with bqStudio. I have this EV2400 and works on my PC until just minutes ago. What happened was my colleague also has an EV2400 to work with a bqStudio on his laptop. Somehow his laptop could not recognize the EV2400, hence when he tries to open bqStudio, it always open up the window asking the user to select a device, i.e., not communicating. So I let my colleague to connect my EV2400 to his laptop and bqStudio. It still not recognized on his laptop. But now when I reconnect my EV2400 to my PC and open the bqStudio, my EV2400 is no longer recognized by my PC. Would you please advise how to remove the EV2400 driver? I think I may need to remove the EV2400 driver and reconnect the EV2400 to find and install the driver, and reinstall the driver update ? Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Tim

  • Hi Tim,
I assigned your post to one of our experts in our tool team.
Looking at the previous post, I am assuming you're using the v0.18 FW for EV2400, aren't you?

    Regards,
    David
  • Hi David,

Thank you. Yes, I am using v0.18 FW for EV2400. I have resolved the issue. Please close this question.

  • Hello Tim,
Can you tell me how you solved your problem with EV2400? I just happen to have exactly the same problem: after connecting it to my laptop at home, my office PC (Windows 10) won't "see" it anymore. Peripheral manager doesn't detect plugging or unplugging of EV2400.
All three leds light up, so the problem is not power related.
    Please help.
    Thank you.
    Best regards.
    Matthieu.
  • Hi Matthieu,

What happened to me might not be applicable to you. In my case, I found out that the battery pack connected to EV2400 was not communicating. When I changed a working battery pack, it worked OK.

    Thanks,

    Tim
  • Hello Tim,

Thank you for your answer. Indeed, this doesn't help much: my EV2400 isn't recognized by my PC, regardless of the bq chip it's hooked to.

But I found out by opening the EV2400 that V_bus (NOT V_usb, but pin 66 of MSP340) doesn't receive any voltage. Ans as soon as I put jumper 7 (JP7) on, bingo! my PC does see the interface. Is this normal? I don't know. I'll have to post the experts at TI to find out.

    Thank you for answering, anyway.

    Best regards.
    Matthieu.
