BQ76940: bq76940 be used to monitor 9 cells

Dear TI Experts，

According to the datasheet, BQ76940 is for 9-15cells, I want to know if I want to use BQ76940 for 8cells， How to make it?which cells should be shorted?

Hi David,

because my end customer may need 17cells 30cells

I want to know if I can both use bq76940 for these two situations，I don't want to buy both bq76930 and bq76940

Hi Fawn,
The bq76940 is not recommended for 8 cells, so there is no recommended connection. You can install a bq76930 on the same footprint as the bq76940 as was done on the EVM, but it does require stocking 2 different part numbers as you indicate is undesirable.
