I need to implement an Active cell balancing solution without using an external voltage supply of 12 V as in the case of EM1402 EVM.

Therefore I was thinking of using LC Series Resonant Circuit based Balancing. To implement this I need 2N +10 MOSFETs for N cells.

I need a switching frequency of about 50 KHz. Is there any IC available which can drive multiple MOSFET together.

Also, Is there any way I can implement this I combination with BQ76PL455 EVM?

Hi Gunit,

Our battery monitor IC's are unable to support this. It is possible to develop an EM1402 like solution to balance back to the module. The largest change would be the transformer turns ratio.

Hi Gunit,

I am not sure that it would be possible. If it were, I would think that the speed you can operate may be limited.

Typically, I think something like a DSP or dedicated MCU may be preferred for something like this.
