Hi,

I have some question about UCD3138 as below:

(1) What is the function of "IPM" on the demo board? (Using the UCD3138PFCEVM-026)

(2) Since the demo board uses 64-pin UCD3138, AC_L & AC_N use AD-07 & AD-08. If 40-pin UCD3138 is used, can AC_L & AC_N be changed to AD-00 & AD-01?

(3) Which model of UCD3138 is recommended for designing a PFC controller?

IPM stands for "Input Power Measurement" .

Using this feature you can save the cost of an extra component to perform the power measurement seperately.

Yes, you can use AD00 and AD01 for measuring AC_L&AC_N on a 40-pin chip.

Just make sure the internal current sources connected to these pins are turned off.

No specific UCD3138 chip is required for PFC topology. You can use any of the chips for PFC.

But based on your other requirements, I can help you to choose the right one.

About UCD3138 Chip, we will use for PFC control and input power measurement. We plan to use 40-pin chip, but the 40-pin chip has many models: UCD3138RHA, UCD3138RMH, UCD3138RJA, UCD3138ARMH, UCD3138ARJA.
Which model of UCD3138 is most suitable for our application?
