TPS40200: correct typical value of tMIN ?

Part Number: TPS40200

I have a question about the typical value of "Minimum controllable pulse width" or tMIN. In the datasheet on page 6 tMIN is mentioned to be 200ns (typ) and 400ns (max). So I assume that 200ns is for a temperature of 25 deg C, correct ?

Then in figure 21 of the datasheet a typical value of 300ns  is given (same conditions: 12V, 100kHz Fsw). I assume this value is given for 25 deg C.

So can you elaborate more on the value and spread:

what is tMIN typical at 25 deg C ?

Waht is tMIN at -40 deg C ?

What is tMIN at 85 deg C ?

Thanks, Klaus

  • Hi Klaus,

The spec on the datasheet for typical and maximum is based on characterization data of multiple parts and it is measured across temperature from -40C to 85C. Therefore there is no exact tmin at certain temperature. What the specification shows is that if you operate the part across from-40C to 85C, you will be guaranteed a max tmin value of 400ns for Vdd = 12V and 200ns for Vdd = 30V.

    Thanks and hope that helps
