Hello, I use BQ24296 in a new design and after some tests, I need information about that:
-------------------------------
Lastly, the important thing to note here is that once you are only using battery power, the VSYS voltage could drop to <3.4V if your battery is discharged enough. There are two options there:
1) Add a buck/boost DC/DC converter to VSYS to ensure constant 3.7V or
2) Make sure a valid 5V source is applied once VBAT is ~ 3.5V
-------------------------------
So the BQ24296 doesn't not boost the ouptut to "REG01[3:1] = 101, VSYSMIN = 3.5 V" value ?
The datasheet says:
SYS:When the battery falls below the minimum system voltage, switch-mode converter keeps SYS above the minimum system voltage.
So in reality, on battery only, the Vsys voltage can be under the Vsysmin voltage ? Near to the battery level (IR minus) ?
Best regards.
