LM5022-Q1: LM5022 Question

Part Number: LM5022-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-01344,

Hi TI,

I have a question regarding LM-5022-Q1 for the flyback application.

My design specs:

Vin = 8-18V

Vout= 6 isolated outputs (each output- 12V/300mA)

Total Pout = 20W

Iout = 2A (total current from all the six isolated outputs) and I need PSR in the controller. I have referred TIDA-01344 application note where they have implemented PSR with LM-5022Q1.

So, I would be interested to know the output voltage regulation for multiple rails, its accuracy and any limit on number of outputs for the LM5022-q1  flyback design. Kindly help me on this issue.

Thank you.

  • Hi Kaashyayp,

    Thank you for considering the LM5022-Q1. In the PSR configuration, transformer coupling play a role, in addition to the primary side regulated rail load level. If the leakage is low, and the primary regulated rail running in CCM, you should be easily got 5% to 10% cross regulation on the secondary rails. Note that you may need to add a Zener clamp at each cross regulated rail in case the voltage will not rise up too much at no load.

    Thanks,
    Youhao
