BQ24610: how about the Battery output resistance of the bq24610?

Part Number: BQ24610

Dear ti,

I have read the slua585 design resources, there is a  description of a paragraph  in the below

I see the bq24610 spec the Vrch typical:50mv,I setting the Iterm=0.3A,  so the Rbat_max=50mv/0.3A=166.7mΩ,

               Is there right?

               thanks&regards

               None

  • None,

    Good day.

Yes, your calculation is correct. So you should make sure your resistance between charger output and battery terminal should be lower than 166.7mohm.

Otherwise you will see BQ24610 will charge and terminate repeatedly during battery absent situation.

    Thanks

  • Hi Paul Yeh

if my battery output resistance Ro≤300mΩ,that it means to i should change my Iterm so the Iterm max≤50mv/300mΩ=0.167A,at the bq24610 spec demand to Iterm≥0.125A,so in my design, the Iterm should set to the range [0.125A,0.167A].

    is there right?

    Thanks&regards.

  • Yes, it it.

    Thanks
