EM1402EVM: Active balancing demo problem

Part Number:

Is the problem solved?

Also under my analisys the code isn't in logic order, but I am newbe for 1428/1499....

Are there news?

  • Hi Massimo,

As there was no response by Cliff, I am not sure if the thread you are referring to was resolved.

If you are looking into using the EM1402EVM design and are new to the 1428 and 1499, I would highly recommend you use all of the recommended parts without modification in order for the code to work properly without any issues. Otherwise, you will have to modify the code for your use case, which can get tricky very quickly.

    Thanks,
    Vince

    Hi Massimo,

Unfortunately I was never able to solve the problem.

Another user created this post, referenced my original post and reporting they also had the exact same issue, so there do appear to be several of us now.

You are right about the code, it is bad practice to leave dead-locks in the code. Although, to be fair to TI they are not claiming the code is production ready or anything.  It is just for demonstrating the hardware.  Unfortunately for us though, it doesn't even do that.

I drop by here periodically to see if there is a resolution.

I followed the setup instruction to the letter using all the recommended hardware and software, but was not able to get the active balancing working.

  • Dear Subscriber,
Yes, the sw snippet was only as an example, but has been working with the HW. Thanks for all the feedback.
we will investigate this further and post on the forum as to the reasons why it did work in the past.
Keep checking the post for updates. I will close this specific thread for now.
  • Are you sure that there is the latest version on the web? Which is?
  • Hi Massimo,

The latest version is currently on the web (has date of 16 Nov 2015). We'll make sure to make a forum post to let everyone know if the code gets a newer revision!

    Thanks,
    Vince
