Also under my analisys the code isn't in logic order, but I am newbe for 1428/1499....

Unfortunately I was never able to solve the problem.
Another user created this post, referenced my original post and reporting they also had the exact same issue, so there do appear to be several of us now.
You are right about the code, it is bad practice to leave dead-locks in the code. Although, to be fair to TI they are not claiming the code is production ready or anything. It is just for demonstrating the hardware. Unfortunately for us though, it doesn't even do that.
I drop by here periodically to see if there is a resolution.

I followed the setup instruction to the letter using all the recommended hardware and software, but was not able to get the active balancing working.
