BQ24295: How to setup into Non-standard Adapter 2A

Part Number: BQ24295

Hi TI experts

I'd like to setup the BQ24295 into Non-standard Adapter 2A. There will be no external connection for USB D+/D-. Just 5V/2A input into VBUS pin.
Is it correct that I can setup as below:
- D+ pin to 1.2V with bias resistor network, for example 4.7k ohm to VBUS pin (5V input), and 1.5k ohm to GND
- D- pin to float

Thanks.

  • Hi Hai,

This should work, assuming your VBUS  voltage is within the typical USB VBUS limits (4.5V - 5.5V), the voltage range at D+ using that resistor divider would be 1.09V-1.33V, which satisfies the conditions of table 3.

You can also always modify the input current limit over I2C after the device initializes.
