LM5121: LM5121 in interleave use

Part Number: LM5121
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5122, LM5160

Can I use LM5121 in interleave mode  as same as LM5122 by using Sync pin (out of phase 180)

  • Hi Santi,

Thank you for your interest. Theoretically you can do this by pulling down the FB of the 2nd device and shorts its COMP to the 1st device. Just pay attention to your selection of the disconnect switch, and one may be turned on early and it must handle the total load current, so it should be well sized.

Another option is to use two LM5122 in parallel, and use a dedicated hotswap device like the LM5160 or LM5050, to achieve the similar function without the burden of generating the two sync clock.

    Thanks,
    Youhao Xi
  • Thank you very much. I will try by using comp pin.
