BQ24172: How to prevent loading current from input power source?

Part Number: BQ24172

I am using the BQ24172 as the charging power management IC. The battery is a 3-cells Li-ion battery, with 5Ah capacity and 30C discharge capability. The charger input power source is a 15V power adapter which can output max. 6A

The load of the system is at max. 22A. The load can be switch on or off by the host MCU. Obviously the power adapter is not able to supply the power for the load. Therefore I would like to prevent the load drawing power from the adapter, the load should only draw power from the battery. Therefore I added a normally closed solid state relay between the "Vsys" and input power adapter (please refer to the attached picture). As such, whenever the MCU need to switch on the load, it will switch off the relay first. Is this method correct?

I noticed that there is a CE pin on the evaluation board that can stop the charging current. Can I use this pin to prevent the load drawing power from the input adapter?

What is the use of the "BATDRV" pin? And when the charger will switch on and off it?
