It seems like you solved your communication issue based on later threads. Did you need to replace the device?

Hi Matt:
yes, it seems the BQ34110 is bad on the BQ34110evm-796,the BQ34110evm-796 works fine when I replace the BQ34110 with another,
it hopes the TI go on a function test when packaged and sent out ,because I more than one such problem has occurred!
