TPS22953: TPS22953 Reverse Current

Part Number: TPS22953

I'm looking at using the TPS22953 for it's low leakage performance to isolate a rechargeable battery from my system during certain states.  While ON, I need to be able to send both charging and discharging currents to the battery through this switch.  I'm looking for clarification: does the TPS22953 support this type of bi-directional current flow in the ON state?

Thanks!

  • Hi Lawrence,

Thanks for reaching out on E2E.

Since the TPS22953 doesn't have always-on reverse current blocking, it can act like a bi-directional switch and charge / discharge the battery. When the device is off, it will block current from entering the device in both directions.

    Thanks,

    Arthur Huang

  • Thanks for the clarification Arthur, we'll look into getting a demo board and try it out.
