Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, BQ34Z100
We have a major issue in one of our designs involving the BQ34z100-G1, battery gauge meter from TI.
A brief description is this: We have set up all the necessary parameters to use the BQ in a LiFePO4 battery, to report Voltage, current, SoC and SoH. Our problem is that we have followed all the steps to get the SoC reading and after a full charge- discharge cycle the BQ reports the SoC well. But at some point when the battery is going through charging – discharging cycles the BQ reports SoC which is unreal and has a deviation from the expected value of about 30-40 %. This fault has arise in many different battery blocks, when charging/discharging or idle state.
this fault arise when the battery block (bb) is operating alone, in parallel or in series with other batteries.
We have collected graphs and other data from our tests but I am not sure which will be helpful.
I attach a graph where we can see the variation of the Full charge capacity, which we believe alters the SoC estimation.
please let me know if you need further data, I will try to collect them.
