RTOS/UCD9090A: How to set the power sequencing using UCD9090A even when dongle is disconnected?

Hi ,

I am using UCD9090A for my design to set up a sequence of power rails. I have set up the sequence as per my project needs.

My question is, once I remove the connection to the GUI, i.e. the dongle is disconnected from the PC,

my rails turn off. I want my rails to be on even when the dongle is disconnected.

Is this possible? How do I achieve this?

Hello

Was the board power by the dongle? Did you click "save ram to flash" to make the setting permanent? if this step is missed, the setting is lost when power is removed

Yes, the information is being saved to the flash to make it permanent. The real issue I think are the enables for each rail. We have four rails that are being monitored with a corresponding enable. If I remove the enables and use GPO's as the enables the rails will stay up once the dongle is removed. I am thinking that either all of the conditions are not being met when using the enables (you can configure the conditions for the enables) versus just having an active high GPO when does not have any conditions. Please confirm.

Thank you for confirming the saving.

Could you please help answer below questions so that we can debug?

1. without the dongle, does the UCD still have the power?

2. without the dongle, power up your system, there are no rail enables signal from UCD. is this right?

3. after step 2, connected the dongle, UCD starts to output rail enables signal. is this right? do you launch fusion gui or not to get the rail enables?

4. please share your project file?

5. which fusion GUI version is used in your test?

6. Please share the schematcis related to the UCD.

UCD devices are very flexiblie that you can configure output based on multiple events or have a static output signal without any inputs.

Hi Yihe,

1. Yes, the UCD9090A does still have power.

2. Yes .

3. Yes, once I connect the dongle back the rails stay 'ON'. As long as the dongle is attached the rails stay 'ON' the Fusion GUI is not required.

4. Yes, the project file is attached.

5. Version 7.0.25.

6. Yes, the Schematic page with the UCD9090A is attached.
