TPS2546: Can we left ILIM_LO pin open in the schematic design

Hi Chuck and team,

If we intend to keep ILIM_SEL pin and CLT2 pin high, which indicates that ILIM_LO threshold is actually not used (Use ILIM_HI=2.4A threshold for SDP).

In this case, is it ok to left ILIM_LO pin open? Or any suggestion on the ILIM_LO resistor selection?

Max,

The recommended operating range for RILIM_LO is between 16.9K and 750k OHM, so it is not recommended to leave the resistor open. Based on the target current range of the system, I suggest selecting a value of 22.1K which will give you a 2.1A minimum current limit if a system fault results in RILIM_LO being selected.

This will ensure that the TPS2546 limits the current to the desired limit in all conditions.
