Dear, all

 

Would you mind if you ask for LDO?

Our customer consider replacement of LDO .

Now, they use XCS6209 (https://www.torexsemi.com/file/xc6209/XC6209.pdf) that is package is SOT-25

Please answer questions below.

 

1.I think TPS709( package:SOT-23 5 pins )is possible for replacement of XCS6209.

Could you give me some advice please?

 

2.SOT-25 is not exist kinds of package in TI LDO products

Is it possible to replace SOT-25's LDO with SOT-23's LDO?

 

it would be great if you could let me know your thoughts on the following the question.

    Hi Yu Ohta,

    1. Whether the TPS709 is suitable will depend on the parameters of your customer's application. For example, the XC6209 has a lower minimum output voltage and a lower dropout voltage. If these parameters are not a concern, the TPS709 could be a good replacement as it has a wider input range, lower quiescent current, and higher PSRR. Can you provide more information about your customer's application? What are the input voltage, output voltage, and load current requirements?

    2. Yes, as can be seen from the package information in the TPS709 datasheet, the SOT-25 package is almost identical to the DBV/SOT-23 (5 pins) package.

    In fact, Our customer is looking for pin-to-pin compatible products with XCS6209 and lower-priced products.

    TPS709 is pin-to-pin compatible products. However, it is higher-priced than XCS6209.

    Could you tell me lower-priced products than XCS6209?

    Hi Yu Ohta,

    The TPS706 and LP2985 are some pin-to-pin compatible devices that are cheaper than the XC6209. You can search the TI LDO product portfolio through the TI website at the link below. This will allow you to find similar devices based on your customer's application requirements. Be sure to include "SOT-23" for the Package Group and check the Approx. price (US$) filter option to sort by price.
