LM5020: Application of LM5020

Part Number: LM5020
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP9256

Hi team,

My customer has a new project design requirement. Can you help evaluate if LM5020 can achieve 92% efficiency with an SR controller? Please refer to the below data for the basic spec. Thanks a lot.

Topology: flyback

Operation frequency: 250kHz

Efficiency: 92% (full load)

Input: 18~75V

Output:12V/72W

  • Hi Lenna,

What is the isolation requirement of the design?

It should be possible to achieve 92% efficiency with a synchronous rectifying MOSFET on the secondary side but it will depend on component selection. PMP9256 is close to the application described above. The test report shows full load efficiency around 90%.

Please look through the TI design reference library to see if there is a design that fits the customer application.
