BQ2000: Questions about charging

Hi Tateo,

1. The LED should flash at 1Hz for charge qualification (including battery conditioning and charge suspended). Table 6 in the datasheet summarizes the display output of the BQ2000.
2. Battery Conditioning (trickle charge) is when the voltage on the BAT pin is less than the internal threshold V_LBAT. This condition indicates the possibility of a defective or shorted battery pack. Once battery conditioning has raised the voltage on BAT pin above V_LBAT, the IC enters fast charge.
   The charging cycle ends with trickle maintenance charge (comes after fast charge). The BQ2000 is designed to remain in trickle maintenance charges forever (excluding two faults) in order to keep a Nickel pack full.
3. Yes, that is a correct understanding.
4. I need to confirm with design what the purpose of D3 is.

Hi, Thank you for your support. Let me confirm one thing. What is the condition to need D3 for preventing the Vcc capacitor voltage from discharging? They would like to make sure the condition which the Vcc capacitor voltage is discharged.
