BQ24610: Questions about Battery Full

Part Number: BQ24610

When I use your battery, I want to set up the battery to reach the cut-off current, will not turn off and will continue to recharge, will automatically cut off when full, and do not want to timing function, do not want to detect temperature, do not know how to set the two functions?

  • Hello,

I am confused; are these behaviors you are seeing on our charger or behaviors you want to program?

If you want to hit the cut-off current, which is based on the programmed voltage on the ISET2 pin, the TTC pin will either need to have capacitor to GND or be pulled HIGH. This enables termination.

If you do not want the timing function but you do want to hit the termination current and stop charging, you can just set the TTC pin to logic HIGH.

If you do not want either timing nor termination current to stop charging, you can set the TTC pin to logic LOW.

If you do not want to detect temperature, just program a fixed voltage divider at the TS pin. This can be easily with two 10kOhm resistors to set TS = 50% x VREF. This will make the state machine for a normal temperature always true.
