TPS65266: TPS65266 appear the Output short circuit

Hi team,

    

          My customer used TPS65266 . Input =5.8V, output =4V , 4V and 5V. The every channel max output current is 3A. The 5V give power to WIFI.  

They did a 100 boards to test. And they found 7 board is broken. TPS65266 's output 5V short circuit. They replace with new device TPS65266, and the board work normally.

Do you have any suggestions?

    Hi Eggsy,

    I guess the short circuit you mentioned is VIN shorted to PGND on TPS65266, right?

    I've checked the schematic, the most important thing is, 0.1uF input cap is missing. It should be placed as close as possible to the VIN pin. The 0.1uF is quite important to avoid these kind of damage.
