LM5066: is LM5066 suitable for DIO powerpath?

Part Number: LM5066

Hi,

i'm looking into LM5066 for digital signal conditioning on higher voltage ranges. I'm not sure if this is this device is suitable for DIO operations although i find has a wide voltage range. On my application i'm thinking of using LM506x family of device for 0-60V voltage translation.

i have a FPGA DIO(typically 0V-3.3V) which requires to connect to wide voltage DIO(0V= LOW, 5V~50V= HI). Please advise. Thanks.

  • Hi Leo,

    Thanks for reaching us.

What is the signal frequency ? Can you please share your block diagram to understand the requirement better.

    Best Regards,
    Rakesh
  • Hi Rakesh,
target is to switch frequency is 100KHz @ 50mA for 0V~60V.

use case is mainly for FPGA interfacing with industrial & automotive end equipment which normally much wider voltage range instead of 0~3.3V.

    Regards,
    Leo
  • Hi Leo,

These devices are designed for inrush current control and are slow during startup. The max switching frequency possible would be around 1kHz.
