TPS62480: Stability of adding/shedding 2nd phase

Dear all.

Figure 30 and figure 31 of the datasheet seem to be the waveform that 2nd phase was adding/shedding by load, at thi time, how did change the load?
I want to confirm that the output voltage does not fluctuate by the change of sudden load either.
Do you have waveform?

Hi PAN-M,

Thank you for your request! Regarding those tests the load change was linear, a triangular load was used. Those figures are meant to give a better understanding of how the system is switching modes. No load transient were applied during this test.

Dorian, Thank you for answer.
My customer worries about a voltage change.
Isn't there the change of the voltage even if the transient load is the timing of the change of mode?
Pls. send it to me if you have data.

Hi PAN-M,

We do not observe significant under/overshoot when the system transfers linearly from 1 to 2 phase mode.

If your worry is about the system regulation when the system goes with a transient load from 1 to 2 phase mode, then Figure 32/33 and 36 would be helpful to you to look at.

tps62480_20190318.pdfI measured by EVM and was able to get a good performance.
