TPS61194-Q1: RC snubber value &bode plots test

Part Number: TPS61194-Q1

hello,there has 2 questions.

1. For RC snubber, lots of files just has a formula[  RSNUB=(L/C)^(1/2)  ],but I don't know why it,can you tell me that the formula origin?

2.  Commonly, We add a small resistor in series with the feedback loop to add an incentive.

For TPS61194-Q1, we need output a constant current, so can we move the resistor to output loop? pls help me explain that  this method whether ok.

Thank you!

  • Hi Robson,

    1. The equation to calculate Rsnub in the application report is just an empirical formula. It sets the Rsnub at the characteristic impedance of the L and C. You can use the results as a reference and adjust the values accordingly in the specific use case.
    2. What is the small resistor you mean? It's better if you can give a provide a schematic to show it. What do you mean by "add an incentive"?
  • hello,shirley
thank for your answer, and I'm already has result for Q2.
