I would like to use the LM53601-Q1-ADJ to produce 3.0V from an input voltage of Vin = 12V +/-15% (10.2 < Vin < 13.8 V). The desired output voltage is slightly below the recommended operating conditions given in Section 7.3 of the data sheet, but note 3 following the table suggests this should be possible and recommends contacting TI for details.
Output capacitance will be > 40 uF and I intend to use a Bourns SRP4012TA-4R7M 4.7 uH inductor having a saturation current of 2.5 A. I plan to drive the SYNC input at 1.95 MHz so the converter will operate in FPWM mode at constant frequency even under light load conditions.
I see that a similar question was asked on the e2e form but for the LM53600 operating at 3.1V. I understand bias current would be supplied by the +12V input when output voltage is less than 3.2 V which will be acceptable in this case. Also, duty cycle should be no less than 20% across input voltage range and at the indicated clock frequency, on time should be more than 100 ns which exceeds specified minimum given in Table 7.7.
Do you expect any issues with using the LM53601 as described above?
