LMR23630: What is consumption current of LMR23630FDRR at 2MHz or 400kHz?

Hello guys,

One of my customers is evaluating LMR23630FDRR for their next products.

They want to know what consumption current of LMR23630FDRR at 2MHz is.

The customer conditions are the below.

Vin=12V,

EN=ON (LMR23630F is switching "SW" node)

Iout = no load.

Switching frequency = 2MHz

Their own measurement result was 16.5mA.

Is this current value is reasonable?

Hello,

Yes, this is about what I expect because this part is operating in FPWM and will have a constant frequency of 2MHz at no load. To operate in PFM for lower input current at no load, you can use the LMR23630DRR.

They need FPWM because they want to keep 2MHz switching speed to avoid affecting to audio amp.

Hello,

I took this measurement on the EVM (LMR23630FDRR at VIN=12V, EN=ON, and Iout = no load). I measure approximately 20mA when Vout = 5V. What is the output voltage in this design?

By the way, what is the resistor value between RT and GND on your board? Is it 17.8k ohm?

Hi Nakai-san,

Yes, the resistor from RT to GND on my board is 17.8kOhm. Thank you for confirming the output voltage. Then, the EVM measurement will correspond to the custom design.
