Linux/BQ28Z610: Is there a Linux driver for the BQ28Z610?

I found another thread in which a TI employee stated they have a "reference driver" for the BQ28Z610. Where can I get that? Is there an official version or a version someone has created and posted on git somewhere else? This device is pretty complex but it happens to have the battery chemistry model for the specific battery part number/manufacturer I'm using but I don't want to have to create a linux driver from scratch, and I'm not familiar enough with modifying linux drivers to modify an existing one.

The 'linux driver' is for the bq27xxx.

That's my issue. As you say, the driver is for bq27xxx. The part number I'm asking about is bq28xxx.

Do you meant to say the bq27xxx driver is definitely compatible with the bq28xxx? I had read on another post that using the bq27xxx driver with the bq28 requires source code modification, though it was a pretty old post. Is that no longer the case?

Hi David,

Unfortunately, no. The same methodology employed in the bq27xxx driver may be used to create one for the bq28z610, however, the registers and values may differ between the devices.

The source code would most definitely need to be modified.
