BQ24092: Exposed thermal pad drawing

Hi there:

Our customer would like to double check the drawing which one is correct for DCG package, it since like have two kind of that in page 37 & 39 of the data sheet (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/bq24092.pdf )

The drawings are correct and both thermal pad configurations are possible.

Hi Bill,

I don't quite understand why these two are both possible because BQ2409x looks only has one package. Could you please explain more about it?

Hi Allan
The device can be built with one of two lead frames with different thermal pad configurations. Overall package and lead out will be the same. Depending on which lead frame is used the thermal pad will have different dimensions.

We are looking at reducing the number of lead frames option on this device and think it is possible to only use only the larger of the two.
Check for updates to the data sheet.
