BQ76PL455A-Q1: Technical support on custom BQ76PL455A-Q1 system

Part Number: BQ76PL455A-Q1

Dear all,

I am opening this thread to ask for some support for a custom implementation of the  BQ76PL455A-Q1 IC (used for a student project).

A month ago, I already developed a first prototype version and after some necessary bug-fixing of electronics, I finally managed to connect the BMS system to the GUI via the COM port several weeks ago, although the sensing of some cells were very off (measuring around 1.3V when the cells were actually 4.2V).

Since then, I developed a second version of the electronics, and just received the boards on Monday. I have been populating some boards and after first a first attempt to connect everything, I am unable to get the the PC detect the COM with the FTDI I am using to connect to the BMS. Therefore I would like to request some help on this matter.

Once this problem gets fixed I also have some questions concerning the software development and how to configure the IC, set up communications with an external uC and therfore adapting the GUIs information to a custom solution based on an STM microcontroller.

I would say that, in order to solve this faster and more efficienttly, I would be super glad if we could discuss this through a Skype call or any other method to try to avoid more delays (already one month delay with previous support).

Feel free to contact me and wec an set up a date for a talk, if that's ok.

Thank you all for your time and effort,

Miguel Quero
