BQSTUDIO: The bq studio tool is broken

I am new using the bq40z50 with the new bqstudio. I say new because I have been away from battery technology for 5 years. I did the "Deep Dive" training and the last product I used was the bq20z90 to develop battery packs for laptop computers. This new tool works very different and there is no documentation on it. I can't unseal a pack or enter the new SHA-1 code.

Thank you for the background.

The SHA1 is for authentication. The seal and unseal keys work similarly to those of the bq20z90.

With the device unsealed and unsealed full access and a private key programmed in the device:

1. Generate 160-bit message M using a random number generator that meets approved random number
generators described in FIPS PUB 140–2.
2. Generate SHA-1 input block B1 of 512 bytes (total input = 128-bit authentication key KD + 160-bit
message M + 1 + 159 0s + 100100000).
3. Generate SHA-1 hash HMAC1 using B1.
4. Generate SHA-1 input block B2 of 512 bytes (total input = 128-bit authentication key KD + 160-bit hash HMAC1 + 1 + 159 0s + 100100000).
5. Generate SHA-1 hash HMAC2 using B2.
6. With no active Authenticate() data waiting, write 160-bit message M to Authenticate() in the format:
0xAABBCCDDEEFFGGHHIIJJKKLLMMNNOOPPQQRRSSTT, where AA is LSB.
7. Wait 250 ms, then read Authenticate() for HMAC3.
8. Compare host HMAC2 with device HMAC3. If it matches, both host and device have the same key KD
and the device is authenticated.

4186.Your tool is broken.docxI got that part. My problem is the tool. At 0x63 I have 10 02 03 04 but the tool will only accept 10 02 and not the last digits.

When  do bulk read, using 0x2F I only get zeros.

I am using the bq40z50 r1. Is this compatible with the SHA-1 authentication process?

Almost there. SO far so good. One ast question. This is not in the documentation

Then I am good to go
