LMZ31710: PH connection

Part Number: LMZ31710

Hi team,

My customer is using LMZ31710 in below application Vin=12V, Vo=5V. We find that there is no internal connection of PH (pin10) with other PHx. And if we left all PH pin open, this will cause the output voltage to 2.7V. If we connect PH to one of PHx, the output will be 5V.

Could you please confirm there is an internal connection of all PH pin? What problem will be if we left all PHx pin open? thanks.

  • Hi Charles,

I would not recommend leaving the PH pin open. The pin description states that all pins designated as PH must be connected to one another using a small copper island for thermal relief. I suspect what you see with the 2.7V is a result of the part misbehaving.

    Regards,
    Jimmy
  • Hi Charles,
Pin 10 of the LMZ31710 is not internally connected to other PH pins. This connection must be made on the host PCB for the device to function correctly.
    Thanks, Jason
