TPS2410: About FLTB

Hi Team,

My Japanese customer has an other question about TPS2410. The question is below:

If gate is not Hi, FLTB is low.

If the external FET source voltage is 5 V and drain voltage is 5.1 V, the TPS2410 detects the FET's reverse bias and turns the gate voltage low.

At this time, the FLTB is low or hi?

Hello Tom Liu,

If gate to anode to voltage is less than V_(GATE-A) fault threshold [= 0.78V Typical], fault pin is set low.

If anode to cathode voltage falls below fast turn off threshold (set by RSET), the device will will turn-off the FET and FLTb will be set low.

Hi Liu,

FLTb is indication of MOSFET fault.

During reverse turn off condition, FLTb would remain high.

Hi Liu,

When the gate is turned off due to reverse bias (reverse current turn off), FLTb remains high and is not pulled down.
However, STAT pin (which report the Gate status), is pulled low indicating gate is low.

I verified that FLTb remains high during reverse bias on EVM.
