TPS23755: For 5V output application

Part Number: TPS23755
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS23758

Hi Team,

Thanks for previous support, here I still got some question:

1. Due to the cost consideration, now can only use TPS23755 for all voltage version PD, than what's the load regulation it should be @5V output?

2. Beside of load regulation, is there any other effect?

Thank you,

C.T.

  • Hi CT,

    1. If 5V, with the TPS23755, you must consider an opto feedback to get good regulation (less than 1%) otherwise 5V PSR with the TPS23755 could be 10% regulation. Typical 5V applications require at most 5% regulation.

    2. Efficiency will also be lower.

I still recommend using the TPS23758 for 5V. Because it will save the cost of having an opto solution and/or an extra POL converter if you need to add a post DCDC for better regulation.
