Hi I am using a BQ24780S charger and BQ40Z50-r1 Gauge on my battery pack . I have a question regarding the advance charge algorithm . I am setting the charge current at 1.3 amps on the charger and on the gauge end I am setting the LT current to be 800ma , In this case will the gauge detect the charge current is higher than the limit and stop charging or it does nothing ? . Note: The charger does not communicate directly with the gauge now in my setup .

Hi Naveesh,

The LT current will actually be displayed in the charging I register in the gauge. This is so that a smart charger can read the register and change the current if needed. In your case, the gauge will continue charging unless your overcurrent in charge threshold is lower than 1.3A.
