BQ27520-G4: The specification of pin

Part Number: BQ27520-G4

Dear all,

I would like to know about pin function of BQ27520.

If there is an open between E2 and GND, or between D2 and GND, what happens to the IC's operation?

(In particular, what happens to I2C communication and output operations.)

It would be great if you could let me know your thoughts on the following a question.

Best Regards,

Y.Ottey

  • hi Y.ottey

D2, the device will not power on.

E2,  you will get erroneous voltage   and SOC measurements .

    thanks

  • Hi Onyx,

    Thank you for your reply.

I would like to know more information about D2 pin.

You said that the device will not power on when there is an open between D2 and GND.

At that time, is it acceptable to recognize that I2C can not communicate between the host and the device?

Also, when there is an open between D2 and GND,does the device output an SDA or SCL signal?

    Regards,

    Y.Ottey

  • HI Y. Ottey

For the chip to be powered on, CE has to be pulled up to reg in. It can't stay floating. There will be no chip functionality in that case including i2c. I do not believe The device will output any i2c signal since it is essentially powered off.

    thanks
