TPS1H200A-Q1: Minimum current limiting capability

Is there a minimum threshold for the amount of current this device can limit? For example could I set Rcl = 40kohm to set the output current limit to 50mA (0.8*2500/40000 = 50mA)? Is there a upper limit for the Rcl value? What is the effect on current limit accuracy larger values of Rcl?

Hello,

This is defined in the external current limit accuracy section of the electrical characteristics of the datasheet. If you use a current limit outside of those limits the accuracy is not defined.

The maximum current limit would be the internal current limit specified in the datasheet.

Sorry but you did not answer my question regarding the minimum current limit setting. Is there a minimum limit to what the current limit can be set to. Will my example of 50mA work?

Hello,

As I said previously if you use a current limit outside of the specs on the datasheet the accuracy will not be defined. You could try and set it there and see what the current limit you will measure but if it is outside of the specs of the datasheet we cannot guarentee accuracy to the current limit desired.
